Bound in stiff printed wrappers saddle stapled. Slight sunning to fore-edge of front cover; spine a tad darkened. Very Good. Item #9715 Each issue was edited by a different editor; accordingly, each issue was imprinted with respective idiosyncrasies, thus providing variant themes, tones and impulses. Among the founders and editors were Joan Braderman, Lucy Lippard, Harmony Hammond, Miriam Shapiro, Mary Beth Edelson, Elizabeth Hess, Mary Stevens, Arlene Ladden, et al. This issue is now housed in a removable clear archival sleeve with an acid-free backing.
The first issue with a new, larger format that was abandoned after two issues. "Heresies" was a feminist journal published in 27 issues between 1977-1992 by the Heresies Collective of New York. Compiled and edited by volunteers, each issue centered on a particular theme relevant to feminist theory, lesbian arts and artists, women's arts and crafts, violence against women, etc.
