Compiled and edited by volunteers, each issue centered on a particular theme relevant to feminist theory, lesbian arts and artists, women's arts and crafts, violence against women, etc. Each issue was edited by a different editor; accordingly, each issue was imprinted with respective idiosyncrasies, thus providing variant themes, tones and impulses. Among the founders and editors were Joan Braderman, Lucy Lippard, Harmony Hammond, Miriam Shapiro, Mary Beth Edelson, Elizabeth Hess, Mary Stevens, Arlene Ladden, et al. This issue is now housed in a removable clear archival sleeve with an acid-free backing.
One of the more scarce issues of "Heresies," owing to the inclusion of author and book-artist Claire Moore's final artist book.
