Indigo-colored cloth textured with pebble-grain; gilt-stamped title on front cover with "cosway"- styled medallion of the company's Seattle headquarters (still standing at First Ave. & S. King St.). A few scuffs and stains on cover; front endpaper has a large scar from the removal of a bookplate. In sum, a handsome, well-preserved copy. Very Good. Item #9523

Everything from laundry stoves to garage-door hardware to church bells to Colt .380 caliber automatic pistols, all presented with b&w illustrations. The Seattle Hardware Company was owned by the Black family, of whom, Frank, served as Mayor of Seattle ... for three weeks. They later formed Black Manufacturing, among other businesses.
