"Stalker" was likely Rev. Dr. James Stalker, professor of church history at United Free Church College, Aberdeen. Stalker's foreword is an apologetic appeal to critics of Mussolini: his suppression of the press is rationalized by the state of near-revolution Italy was experiencing; the English population in Florence supports Mussolini; Mussolini solved the social problems of Italy without strikes and without nationalization. An early approach at Mussolini hagiography.
