Translated by Arthur Prague from the original Russian edition published in 1930 (State Publishing House RSFSR). That first edition is noted as a significant design achievement, using typography and illustrations so bold that pages resembled posters by El Lissitzky. The edition at hand was designed to reflect the Constructivist aesthetic; it was prepared by George Collins, who provides an introduction, and William Alex. Dust jacket is now preserved in a clear, removable archival jacket.
