A faint quarter-inch dampstain affects the bottom edge of the final ten leaves, and a another unobtrusive dampstain to the lower left of the frontispiece portrait (please see last two photos). Alexander arrived in Hawaii in 1832. Per Forbes, "in the main, the text tells of Alexander's life at Waioli, Kauai, and at Lahainaluna and Wailuku on Maui.
