A Chronological History of North-Eastern Voyages of Discovery and of the Early Navigations of the Russians
Amsterdam and New York: N. Israel and Da Capo Press, (1969). Facsimile Edition. Hardcover. 8vo. Pp. 310. Preface. With a folding chart. Simulated vellum binding with the protective cover. Fine / Fine. Item #701
Facsimile edition of the London first, 1819. Captain Burney served on Captain Cook's second and third voyages. His effort here was to supplement his earlier history, initially published in 1813. Rather than focus solely on Russian activity, though, Burney covers other voyages, too: Martin Spangberg and William Walton to Japan; Joseph Billing into the Aleutians, etc. This title is the publisher's Bibliotheca Australiana # 49. See HILL I, p. 41.
