Born 1924 and passed 2008 in Seattle, the non-representational painter and collagist worked for many years in France and traveled extensively to exhibit his work. In the late 1980s he was made Commander of the French Order of Arts and Letters, likely one of the few Seattleites to earn that prestige, and certainly the only graduate of Wallingford's Lincoln High School to be so honored.
