Thrift SCORE a 'zine about thriftin' COMPLETE Run in 13 Issues
(Pittsburgh): Al Hoff, 1994-98. First Printings. Saddle-Stapled Wrappers. Thirteen issues on photocopy stock, folded and saddle-stapled. Pagination varies. A few issues with hand-amended features (the cover of Issue 2 is hand-colored; Issue 3 has a denim swatch stapled to front cover; Issue 6 has "the Teeny Tiny Tiki Drink Book" stapled to an interior page, etc.). Issue 13, the last, has an addendum laid in ("Las Vegas Snapshots: On the Eve of the Millennium"). All issues are in uniformly Fine condition. Fine. Item #6994
A DIY guide to thrift shopping that may have been a harbinger of today's "thrift" "vintage" ethos, perhaps hitting its zenith with Macklemore's hit song "Thrift Shop" (2013). Regardless, the movement was in full stride when Harper Perennial published these issues in a collection under the same title, but with the subtitle, "The Stuff, The Method, The Madness" (1997). While individual issues turn up, a complete run is uncommon, at best.
