Facsimile of first edition published in London by Boone, 1841. Grey, 1812 - 1898, was inexperienced and ill-prepared for such undertakings; on one occasion he and his men relying on wet mud to quench their thirst. As with so many expeditions in Australia, an enterprise best avoided.
