Covers stained, edges rubbed, upper corner of final leaves bumped, former owner ink signature to ffep bled through to recto of portrait plate. Weld (1874-1937) was US District Court Judge for Southern Ohio 1919-1923, after which he returned to private practice. This volume of essays and addresses, many inspired by and read before the Literary Club of Cincinnati, was published by his family for presentation to friends.
