Melnick's tales of being tour manager for the great New York punk band through its 2,263 live shows 1974-96. With additional background from pop music journalist Meyer, covering junior high school to the breakup. Multiple interviews, posters, Polaroids, girlfriends, documents, and complete list of tour dates. The Ramones first appearance in the Pacific Northwest is cited: Apparently driving as far west as they could go, without much direction, they landed at the Pacific Ocean in Aberdeen, Washington. There they played a tavern in front of angry loggers; among them was Kurdt Vanderhoeven, who went on to join Seattle punk band the Lewd. Inspired by his exodus from Aberdeen, for a while Kurt Cobain spelled his name "Kurdt" in homage to his fellow Aberdeener.
