One of the earliest, if not the first, of Washington State imprints: Washington achieved statehood on November 11, 1889. Other presses throughout the state may have issued printed material in the week preceding this publication; that the State of Washington printed bound material is unlikely.

In 1872, Ferry was first appointed Governor of Washington Territory by President Grant. Ferry served until 1880. After a break from politics, in 1889 he was elected first Governor of the Washington State. Among his initial tasks was reviving the cities of Seattle, Ellensburg and Spokane Falls, all of which had suffered catastrophic fires. Scarce. OCLC records eight copies, five of which are held by Washington State institutions. Now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve with an acid-free backing.
