Translator's "Memoranda" following the play. Ivory colored backstrip over ochre patterned paper covered boards by Mrs. Augustus Loring, titles stamped in gilt on the spine, Rives handmade leaves uncut/unopened. Edition limited to 550, this copy hand numbered 285. Set in sixteen point Montaigne and printed at the Riverside Press. Board edges lightly rubbed, leaf edges moderately foxed. In the black cloth slipcase with titles and illustration in black on a paper label mounted to the front: edges rubbed through, opening chipped and a two-inch closed tear, section missing from the closed end. While the slipcase has suffered wear, it continues to perform well in preserving the elegantly bound book.
