An early reprint of the first of Chiang Yee's Silent Traveller series. The book was so well received it launched a career for the author-artist; when his London publisher dispatched him to gain impressions of New York and Boston for future titles in the series, he was induced by Columbia University to consider a professorship. By 1955 he committed to that offer.
