A most curious novel, where a couple "trincs" (phoenetically, "drinks," or cocktails) are the catalyst for a tumble into Rabelaisian fantasy. Watson published Wonder Malady the following year.

Jordan-Smith was a Los Angeles Universalist minister, lecturer, book critic and authority on Robert Burton (Anatomy of Melancholy,) who achieved fame with his modern-art hoax Disumbrationism. Wilbur Jordan Smith, his son, ran UCLA Special Collections from 1950s-1970 or so. Scarce in the dust jacket, now preserved in a clear removable archival sleeve.
