Byron's circumnavigation of the globe as captain of HMS Dolphin and the sloop HMS Tamar was a significant achievement, owing in part to the speed of the voyage: under two years. Of note was his ceremony taking possession of the Falkland Islands, which nearly provoked war with Spain. A handsome copy. Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
