Adapted to the screen by Moss Hart, Elia Kazan directing, with John Garfield, Dorothy McGuire and Gregory Peck starring, and also featuring a very young Dean Stockwell. The Tom Lovell dust jacket illustration evokes the era's tough-guy-journalist mystique, in this instance, a reporter who for six months passes as Jewish, only to suffer indignities of poor service, hotel rooms suddenly unavailable, schoolyard bullies who taunt his son. In sum, an indictment of anti-Semitic strains current in post-WWII America. Dust jacket is now enclosed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
