Inscription reads, "This volume is cordially inscribed by the author to my friends Mrs. Adeline and "Art" Richards [signed] George Cotterill" followed by a residential address in Seattle, dated 1945. A bright copy of the history of exploration of Puget Sound, debunking the Juan de Fuca myth and focussing instead on the thorough charting by George Vancouver. Written by the former Mayor of Seattle and Port of Seattle Commissioner. SMITH, 2066. The uncommon dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival dust jacket.
