Item #6174 From the polar collection of John M. Levinson, physician and Explorers Club president (1985-1987). As much an anthropological expedition as a geographical or natural-resource exploration, Nordenskiold scouted the North-East Passage, Chukches, Yenisei, Siberia, Novya Zemla and, briefly, Japan.
The preferred edition, as it contains the the whole narrative of the North-East Passage, as well as Nordenskiold's year among the Chukches. In addition, the translation is revised and measurements are reduced to English terms.
