First edition of the first novel by Doris Peel, written at age 19. The 1927 New York Times review cited the author's "superior comprehension," her "strong interest in character" and "ability to articulate a sense of values in life." About the dust jacket illustrator, Roland Francis Cosimini (b. 1898) we know little, other than he was born in France and, like Peel, lived in Massachusetts, and created a superb illustration depicting three windblown characters atop a hill, taking in a commanding view of the countryside. Dust jacket is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.

Price: $60.00
