Author Sol Barney Allen was a Toronto lawyer who kept company with physicians and wrote fiction, including at least a couple novels that feature gynecologists. This novel was published in Canada, 1948, as Toronto Doctor, using the same dust jacket art (blurb: "A Great Canadian Novel") and was subsequently issued as a paperback, The Gynecologist (1969). Dust jacket preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
