Based on the Bemis Foundation's study of prefabricators in 1946 - 47, by the Foundation's Director. Artist and theorist Gyorgy Kepes taught design at the New Bauhaus in Chicago then founded the Institute for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT. Quite scarce in any hardcover edition (MIT Press reprinted the title in 1964), the first edition in dust jacket, in any condition, is more than uncommon. Dust jacket preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
