Jacket edges rubbed, spine ends chipped, one-inch closed tear near spine head, spine color a tad faded, light soiling. Very Good / Good+. Item #5792

A compilation of popular articles from the magazine Interiors where Schroeder was editor. The charming Alvin Lustig jacket is a perfect complement for an interior design guide, given his history as typographer, architect and, indeed, interior designer.

Elaine Lustig Cohen, Alvin's widow, included this title in her list of ten favorite Alvin Lustig designs, stating it exhibits "a playfulness and humor which is rarely mentioned in connection with his work." And dust-jacket authority Martin Salisbury, in a Paris Review article titled "Twelve Dust Jackets," included this design in that rarified field, noting "Alvin Lustig’s distinctive hand-rendered lettering was a key pictorial feature of the early editions of this striking jacket design." Dust jacket now preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
