Hands-down one of the best boxing names ever, Shorty Whipp has almost proven elusive in the annals of pugilism with only one boxing site recording his career. A super featherweight, he fought nine bouts, winning three, losing two and drawing four. The first recorded fight for another boxer on the card, Johnny Acceturo, is recorded as 1942. As such, we'll date this poster from the post-WWII era. Scarce. Please excuse the glare and shadows in our photos; it's a fault of the amateur photographer (me) and not a condition of the poster.
