The bulk of the book is composed of tree listings, A-to-Z. This copy inscribed to Seattle arts patron Anne Gould Hauberg: "For Ann, a wellspring of inspiration and good humor. Thanks! Arthur Lee Jacobson". Below his name Jacobson has drawn a small tree with a happy human face. In the list of benefactors who provided financial contributions to fund the book, Hauberg has underscored her name in her signature aqua ink. Dust jacket is now preserved in a clear, removable archival protector.
