The story of the Denny Party's overland trek, 1851, and the establishment of Seattle as the Northwest's Queen City, written by the granddaughter of one of the city's founders, Arthur Denny. Illustrator Paul Gustin is known for large historical murals at the Smith Room, the old rare book room at the University of Washington's Suzzalo Library. First published privately in Seattle, 1931, and printed by Lowman and Hanford. This is the first trade edition. SMITH, 10786 (mistakenly credits publisher as Metropolitan). See SOLIDAY, IV, 653.
