Halle (1727 - 1810) was a Prussian professor of history who also wrote on toxicology, crafts and the sciences. His works on "Magic" described experiments to produce amazing phenomena with optics, magnetism, electricity, chemistry, etc. Twelve volumes were produced 1788 - 1802.
