East Aurora, New York: Roycroft Shop, 1903. Roycroft printed items: one book catalog, one book order form, one book prospectus, one invitation to the annual convention, one leaflet quoting the Denver Post, five motto cards, and one Hubbard portrait. Three clippings from the Denver Post. Eight notes on letterhead, seven typewritten and one handwritten, concerning book orders to Mr. George E. Gray, some signed in ink by Elbert Hubbard. (The last two are from Elbert Hubbard II after senior's death.) Also one Roycroft-style leaflet from The Ivy Press, Seattle and a 1901 W. W. Denslow caricature "John de Luxe," Supplement of The Erudite, September, 1901. Very Good. Item #4796

The notes are dated October 1903 to October 1916. We dated the collection 1903, in the entry provided, only to ensure the collection appears in customer searches. In the last letter, Elbert Hubbard II thanks Mr. Gray for his friendship with his late father then requests to be released from the "perpetual" Thirty-Third Degree membership contract with Roycrofters with the offer of five de luxe books.
