Wooldridge accompanied her captain husband with a shipment of cargo from England to South America. The ship caught fire and the crew was stranded on Staten Island (no, not that one) off the eastern coast of Tierra del Fuego. After some privations they made a run for it in an open boat, alighting at Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. An uncommon female shipwreck account -- excepting Caitlin Thomas's "Leftover Life to Kill." Dust jacket now housed in removable, clear, archival protector.
