An early campaign poster for Richard Nixon (1913-1994), likely printed for his 1950 Senate campaign, with the staggering slogan "A Vote for Honest Government." As it turned out, Nixon's political career was marked by a level of dishonesty unmatched in recent history, until the Trump administration assumed power.
