The obscure history of, in part, an obscure golf course. Copies turn up at auction, but seldomly. Restoration Point, located at the south tip of Bainbridge Island, possesses exquisite no-bank acreage that ranks as one of Puget Sound's most exclusive enclaves. The club features a picturesque golf course.

In 1792, Captain George Vancouver anchored the Discovery off the southeastern tip of Bainbridge Island, a part of the island he named Restoration Point. The reason for the place name? Not for the restive qualities of the area, which is an assumption we've always held, but in honor of Restoration Day -- the anniversary of the return of the Stuarts to the English throne. Not listed in Donovan & Jerris.
