Boba was a noted figure in the field of Eastern European history, gaining renown for his theory ("the Boba Thesis") that the 9th C. prinicipality of Moravia was located in Serbia near the Roman provincial capital of Sirmium (present-day Sremska-Mitrovica), not in the present-Czech Republic. Boba spent his career at the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington.
