Inscribed by the author on the half-title. Very Good. Item #2164 Inscription reads, "To Dr. Bouwen (?) from Nina Cust / August, 1939." The author's address is added in pencil on the rear free endpaper ("Mrs. Henry Cust / 17 Hyde Park Gate / London SW17"). The subjects were the author's mother (Victoria) and grandmother (Lady Emmeline). Young Victoria published selected recollections in A Young Traveller's Journal of a Tour in North and South America during the year 1850 (London: T. Bosworth, 1852), which is now rare. Indeed the volume at hand is now scarce. A handsome, presentable copy.
