Jackson was General Agent of Education in Alaska at time of publication. This comprehensive report is an account of the management of domesticated reindeer from Siberia to western Alaska as a solution to First People's chronic food shortage. The proposal was first suggested by Captain Michael A. Healy, an officer in the United States Revenue Cutter Service. One photo plate has a profile of the US Revenue Cutter Thetisr. Contains rich anthropological and natural science information, especially concerning Siberia and its First People. The photos are particularly good. Scarce.
