Goals for Seattle The Report of the Seattle 2000 Commission; Prepared by the Citizens of Seattle and Adopted by the Mayor and City Council

Seattle: (City of Seattle), 1973. First Edition. Paperback. 8vo. Pp. ix, (2), 391, (13). Illustrated with black and white line drawings at chapter headings. Bound in stiff illustrated wraps. Superficial dampstaining to fore-edge, binding starting, and cover a bit worn, with a handful of discreet check marks next to salient passages. Former owner name, Walt Crowley, in red ink on title page. Good. Item #1930

Crowley is credited as designing the book's cover. In addition, as a city planner in the Wes Uhlmann administration, Crowley served the commission, which was headed by Seattle attorney Douglas Raff.

The proposals proffered by the commission appear rational and progressive, with many initiatives, especially concerning social justice, realized. Other proposals now appear absurd. The prospect of banning handguns in Seattle, for instance, would appear to violate Seattleites Second Amendment right. While this copy has been around the block, it's the first copy we've seen, let alone handled. A handful of institutional copies are located regionally. Now protected with a clear, removable archival jacket.

Price: $75.00
