One of Hunt's first books. Perceptive American views of Europe, mostly Germany and Austria, but with good sections on Venice and Rome (with plenty of commentary on Protestant and Catholic interaction), presented in Hunt's refined, anecdotal manner. With the imperative, "never any of you try to see Nuremburg in a day."
