The Kitsap history substantial, pleasantly idiosyncratic history of the region, with emphasis on cities and towns including Port Orchard, Manchester, Eagle Harbor, and many more. The section on Bainbridge Island goes in to great detail on the island's historic aspects - "The Japanese of Bainbridge Island" and "The Authors of Bainbridge Island," for instance. William Pitt Trimble is mentioned as having bought the land around Port Madison.
