In the fall of 1969 Andy Warhol founded the influential pop-culture magazine inter/VIEW, originally a film-focused covering the New York underground scene. The publication was energized by John Wilcock, Paul Morrissey, and Gerard Malanga, Warhol's chief Factory assistant. Featuring Luchino Visconti’s historical drama "The Damned" on the cover, this issue contains uncut conversations, reviews, and interviews with Elia Kazan, Sam Shepard, Emile de Antonio, and Jacques Demy. Also included in this issue is the film schedule for the "7 1/2 New York Film Festival," a review of a new book on Jean Cocteau, and a wonderful look back at vaudeville star and Hollywood character actress Louise Dresser.
