Item #12977 This fourth issue features the satirical drama "End of the Road," produced by Max L. Raab, directed by George Avakian, and released simultaneously, January 1970. Interviews include the likes of Josef von Sternberg, Max L. Raab, Pasolini, George Romero, and movie reviews with accompanying b/w stills, of "Cactus Flower" by Bob Ingram, "Night of the Living Dead" by George Romero, and "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" by Stephen McDermott, to name a few. Not to miss are two fabulous "Best" lists: "69 Best Movies" and a 1969 best list of films released in New York from longtime Factory luminaries Joe d'Allesandro and Holly Woodlawn, et al. A deliciously apt quote is found tucked at the end of one of these lists: "We all have a common interest, bigger and more horrible monsters -- and I'm just the monster to bring them to you." -- William Castle, producer of "Rosemary's Baby." Now housed in a clear archival sleeve with acid-free backing.
In the fall of 1969 Andy Warhol founded the influential pop-culture magazine inter/VIEW, originally a film-focused covering the New York underground scene. The publication was energized by John Wilcock, Paul Morrissey, and Gerard Malanga, Warhol's chief Factory assistant.
