Borgex b&w illustrations throughout including music scores. Color wraparound illustrated jacket over unprinted wraps, edges untrimmed, leaves uncut. Edition limited to 150 on Papier du Japon, this copy stamped number 60, signed by Bruant and Borgex. Jacket with light foxing, else crisp and bright with tight binding. In a half leather over yellow cloth custom slipcase, spine titles in gilt between four raised bands; chemise covered in matching yellow cloth: minimal soiling, Very Good+ / Very Good+ jacket, Near Fine slip case. Item #12925 Bruant (1851-1925) was a French cabaret singer, comedian, and nightclub owner, credited as the creator of the chanson réaliste. In posters by Toulouse-Lautrec he is depicted in his signature red scarf and black cape. Painter and lithographer Louis Borgex (1873-1959) was close to Bruant and other Montmartre artists in the 1890s. An well preserved copy.
The pieces are arranged in chronological order; the final four are dated December 1896.
