Reprints of the 1870 edition of the History, the 1913 Whitman College Quarterly edition of the Unpublished Journal, and appended with uncredited biographies and genealogies. Illustrated with tissue guarded portraits and coats of arms in color. Spine reads "Gray, Kamm and Allied Families with W.H. Gray's Journal and History of Oregon." Elaborately bound in black morocco, Gray and Dix coats of arms and decorations in gilt, spine with raised bands and gilt decorated compartments, all edges gilt, silk endpapers. W. H. Gray was one of the earliest Oregon pioneers, having crossed the plains with the Whitmans and Spaldings in 1836. His daughter Caroline Augusta Gray (1840-1932) married Jacob Kamm in 1859. Mrs. Kamm provided the manuscript of Gray's journal that was first published in 1913 at Whitman, and reprinted here. OCLC lists four copies under reference 24105197.
