Born in Portland, OR, Cunningham studied at the UW and in Germany, then worked under Edward S. Curtis. While developing her style in Seattle, she married Roi Partridge, a noted printmaker whose renown was eventually eclipsed by Cunningham. Cunningham exhibited locally and came to the attention of Edward Weston, eventually settling in San Francisco. Her images have retained an elegant poetry. Dust jacket now protected in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
