McWhorter and a foreword by Chief Standing Bear. Frontis. photo portrait. Line drawings throughout by Heister Dean Guie. Bound in tan cloth, spine with stamped brown lettering and rules, front board with brown lettering and illustration. Shallow dent on front board. Illustrated dust jacket with edge-wear, notably with the front panel separated from the spine.

Inscribed on the half-title page by L.V. McWhorter to " Murray and Eunice, compliments" using the native name that was given to him by the Yakima tribe, He-mene Ka-Wan. The bookplate on the front pastedown belongs to Mrs. S. Murray McWhorter who undoubtedly is the Eunice in the inscription, though unsure of relation.

Also signed on half-title page "Sincerely yours" by Mourning Dove. Scarce thus. Fine / Good+. Item #12496
