Peter Augustus Jay (1776-1843) was the eldest son of first United States Chief Justice John Jay, and was himself active in New York State politics as well as the abolitionist movement. Elizabeth Clarkson Jay (1823-1895) was the seventh of his eight children. A well preserved copy.
