Front hinge weak, lacks rear endpaper, boards rubbed and soiled, ownership signature of " W.H. Gray Astoria" (twice, on front pastedown and free endpaper) with his annotations throughout. Very Good. W.H. Gray was one of the earliest Oregon pioneers, having crossed the plains with the Whitmans and Spaldings, 1836. He later served as a politician and wrote A History of Oregon, 1792-1849.(1870), which is included in George Tweney's 89 as item 24.
