Taylor Mead: Excerpts from the Anonymous Diary of a New York Youth

(Venice, California): [Self Published], (1962). Leanora Miller (cover photos). Second Printing. Printed wrappers. 8vo. Pp. 42, [1]. In the saddle-stapled stiff, printed wraps illustrated with photos by Leanora Miller. Inscribed in pen on the front free endpaper by Karl Bissinger to "Julien." Beneath the inscription is written "from Karl Bissinger" and "Judith Malina." Good+. Item #12098

Inscription reads, "For Julien / with love and admiration, but mostly because I hope it will make you laugh - / Karl". We presume Bissinger's inscription is to Julian Beck, co-founder, with Judith Malina, of The Living Theatre (despite the spelling "Julien"), and that Malina then amended the inscription by identifying Bissinger with his full name, then added her name as well. A fine association from the underground milieu of early '60s NYC. Now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.

Price: $450.00
