Bound in three-quarter vellum with tooled gilt rules over grey cloth boards, gilt spine titles, marbled endpapers, TEG, red bookmark ribbon bound in. Sunning to spine; rubbed edges; minor soiling to covers, bookmark ribbon detached. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown and ship name in ink on the title page. Inscription by the author's husband, Lord Brassey, tipped-in to half-title: "W. H. White from Brassey with sincere congratulations" on his engraved note paper ("24 Park Lane W."). Very Good-.
