A card labeled "Holiday Blessings H. B,' and a typewritten letter from a previous owner to Broderick, with Broderick's handwritten response on the same page, are laid in. Years included are 1922, 1945, 1966-7. Two volumes signed by Broderick on the title-page, half-title, or to rear. Broderick jumps from lively anecdote to livelier anecdote, presenting Seattle history in vernacular, first-person form. The historic photos are terrific.
